Description
1/17/23 – This is an original Type 30 bayonet made by Tokyo Arsenal during early/pre WW2. The bayonet features a blued blade with a Tokyo Arsenal stamp on the ricasso. The blade is in great condition with some mild finish loss and scabbard rub wear. The hooked cross guard and pommel have most of the original blued finish intact and are in excellent overall condition despite some mild patina. The wood grip has early washers and screws. The bird’s head pommel looks to be double serial number stamped, suggesting this is a possible Kokura arsenal rework. We believe this is a Variation A, LB-76 (or LB-78) variation. Comes with a very nice tubular nosed scabbard. The scabbard has excellent finish throughout and some mild finish loss and surface patina.
