Description

The Lansky Master’s Edge Diamond Edition MEDGE1D, like the original and best-selling Lansky’s Master’s Edge, is a practical and easy-to-use sharpening system. Thanks to the diamond-coated sharpeners, this sharpening system sharpens your kitchen knives, pocket knives and outdoor knives very efficiently. The sharpening system can be used for almost all knives, including serrated knives! You easily store the sharpeners in holders under the plastic base.

How to use the Master’s Edge Sharpener Diamond Edition

Step 1: Place the sharpener on a flat, sturdy surface. Make sure you can maintain a comfortable working height.

Step 2: Fold back the hand guard and insert the two round grey medium grit ceramic sharpeners into place on the base plate. You also place the sharpeners depending on the angle you want to sharpen at (17, 20 or 25 degrees).

Step 3: Take your knife and place the back of the blade against the top of the sharpener. To start sharpening, move the blade down along the ceramic sharpener. Slowly move the knife towards you, to make sure you sharpen the entire blade. This movement is quite similar to slicing bread. Always keep the knife at a 90-degree angle. To sharpen the other side of the blade, use the other sharpener. Usually, your knife will be sharp enough when you have passed it along the sharpeners 10 to 20 times. If the edge is very dull, it may take some more time.

Step 4: swap out the 400 grit diamond-coated sharpener for the 600 grit sharpener. Sharpen the blade as explained in step 3 to make your knife even sharper.

Sharpening serrated knives with the Lansky Master’s Edge Diamond Edition

The triangular multi-angle bar in the Master’s Edge All Diamond knife sharpener is suitable for sharpening all types of serrations. There are two pre-drilled holes for the sharpener in the base, so you can sharpen both left- and right-handed serrations. First determine the direction of the serrations (left or right), which radius fits best and the right sharpening angle (usually 17° is a good starting point). Insert the sharpener into the appropriate hole and sharpen each serration by pulling the sharpener along the serration. Finish sharpening by pulling the sharpener flat against the back of the serrations to remove the burrs.
