It works just as smoothly in bolt actions, and it delivers muzzle velocities up to 100 fps faster than other manufacturers’ 17 HMR loads with the same bullet weight!
The bullet itself is nothing less than CCI’s signature Varmint Tip, a polymer tipped bullet with an intensely streamlined profile that confers a G1 ballistic coefficient of 0.128. It achieves a muzzle velocity of 2,650 fps when fired through a 22” barrel, and crosses the hundred yard mark at a still-fast velocity of 2,000 fps. And if the Varmint Tip collides with a critter at any point in its trajectory, it’s going to treat it to a devastating dose of explosive terminal expansion and fragmentation.
This ammo is loaded with CCI’s own expertly drawn brass, as well as the Idahoan manufacturer’s legendarily reliable non-corrosive and sensitive rimfire primers.
