Practicing with your 380 ACP pocket pistol to the point where you feel competent with it can seem like a daunting task. You’ve not only got to invest time at the range, but money on ammunition as well. We don’t offer a magic pill that will turn you into a master shooter, but Hotshot’s very accessibly priced ammunition sure can help you to become one!
This European-made ammo substitutes steel for copper and brass, the primary reason for its reasonable price tag. Each round’s 230 grain FMJ bullet is strengthened with the affordable alloy for assured smooth feeding. Each round also offers a steel shell casing, removing any need for valuable brass.
Keep in mind that some indoor ranges ban magnetic projectiles, so this ammo may serve you better as a backyard plinking solution. Steel shell casings are additionally pretty much useless for reloading, but that’s hardly a great shortcoming if you like so many other shooters simply plan to leave your casings on the ground. Steel is also relatively inelastic, so it can’t expand to seal a pistol’s chamber as effectively. You’ll notice this ammo fires a little “dirtier” because of that, but a thorough cleaning after your shoot will prove the solution.
Some shooters raise their eyebrows at Berdan primers, but only because old military surplus so often has corrosive Berdans. These modern rounds’ Berdan primers are exclusively non-corrosive, however, which alongside their clean burning propellant will serve to keep your pocket pistol in better condition as you master its performance!
