The ANV Knives M41 Grifus ANVM41-001 DLC Elmax, Black Micarta is more than just a sturdy tactical knife: it is a tribute to the resilience and passion of the Czech Army’s 41st Motorised Battalion. This knife was designed in collaboration with members of this battalion. They devised this versatile knife to meet the high demands of both military missions and challenging outdoor activities, and therefore offers the essential survival functions for any terrain. The battalion, which has participated in missions in Sub-Saharan Africa and Afghanistan, will now carry the M41 GRIFUS as its standard service knife for future deployments and missions. The handle offers a solid grip and feels great in hand. At the end of the handle, the tang protrudes a bit to serve as a butt plate or emergency glass breaker.

Blade made of Elmax steel
The blade of the ANV Knives M41 Grifus M41-001 DLC Elmax, Black Micarta, tactical knife is made of Elmax. It’s tough, easy to sharpen and has a very good sharpness retention. These features, in combination with the corrosion resistance, makes Elmax a great steel. Elmax is made by Uddeholm in Sweden.
The blade is finished with a DLC coating, which stands for ‘Diamond Like Carbon’. It’s a very hard coating that is even harder than the steel. This makes DLC very scratch-resistant, and this coating protects the blade against corrosion. DLC is very hard, but it is also only a thin layer: eventually, you will always see signs of use.
Micarta handle

If you look closely, you can see a subtle texture on the surface, sometimes it looks almost like wood. This material is strong and stable, and it’s very grippy.

However, it is important to keep a kydex sheath clean on the inside. Rinse it regularly with water. This will prevent dirt from remaining in the sheath, which can scratch the blade.
