Description
The ANV M73 Kontos is a remarkable fixed knife, designed in cooperation with the 73rd Tank Battalion of the Czech Armed Forces. The shape of the blade might remind you of the front ot the T-72Ms tank. In fact: the pommel, also called the butt cap is made from an original pin from the tracks of a T-72 tank. Very unique! In addition, the guard is shaped as such that it has the same shape as the dome of that tank. The first, numbered edition of the M73 Kontos was given to the members of the 73rd tank battalion and is not available to the public. With this version of the Kontos the M73 becomes available to all!
The blade of this Acta Non Verba M73 is made from Sleipner steel. This is a strong type of tool steel. In terms of qualities it looks a lot like an improved version of D2 steel. The structure of the steel is a lot finer at a molecular level, making it even stronger. It also retains its sharpness even better.
The handle is made from micarta, A fine material made from canvas and synthetic resin. It feels great in hand and offers enough grip. Even more so thanks to the fine grooves that were added to the surface. In wet circumstances micarta stands out even more. The fibres expand providing you with even more grip.
The ANV M73 Kontos comes with a sleek kydex sheath. It is enhanced with MOLLE loops to make sure you can attach it to a MOLLE vest or bag. These loops are also perfect if you want to carry the knife on your belt.
