Description
The Flytanium Zenith Trainer 2.0 provides you with everything you need to take your butterfly knife skills to the next level. The quality and balance are excellent, perfect for tricks like rollovers, chaplins, orbits and aerials. After collecting feedback, Flytanium has taken the Zenith 2.0 to an even higher level of quality and usability. This has been achieved through modifications such as an improved grip, optimised pivots and a handy bite edge indicator.
This balisong trainer has an unsharpened blade. Because it is illegal to possess a balisong with a sharp blade in many European countries, these trainers are beloved amongst European knife enthusiasts, who still get to experience what it’s like to flip a butterfly knife. Like its animal namesake, a butterfly knife trainer occasionally flies out of your hand unintentionally. Fortunately, the Zenith won’t cost you an arm and a leg. Flytanium, despite offering high quality, has kept the Zenith very affordable.
The ‘stonewash’ process was chosen for the finish of this blade. The stonewash process involves the blade being placed inside a drum with ceramic stones, or media, and then vibrated or tumbled for several hours. The result is a finish that looks precisely polished or roughened depending on the version. The advantage of stonewashing, however, is that signs of use are much less noticeable. That makes it a popular choice for knives that see a lot of use.
Aluminium handle
The handle of the Flytanium Zenith is made from aluminium. The handle measures 14.2 cm in length. Aluminium is pleasantly lightweight and easy for the manufacturer to work with. As a result, it is a very popular choice for handles. Aluminium comes in many different grades or alloys. Most manufacturers opt for one of the more durable types of aluminium for knife handles, often using the same quality as the type used for aircraft construction.
Flytanium accessories
Flytanium have been making superb accessories for all sorts of pocket knives for many years. While for many manufacturers this remains a hobby, Flytanium specialized and organized so that the Flytanium accessories have an excellent reputation worldwide.
Tips when installing
Adding new scales or other accessories isn’t without risk! To prevent damage to screws and scales, always use suitable screwdrivers and never force anything. We prefer to add a piece of a plastic bag in between the bit and the screw to prevent any damage to the screws. If the screws are stuck, it is important not to force them. Carefully heat them with a hairdryer or tap the back of the screwdriver to break the loctite. Find more tips here.
Also check the warranty conditions of the manufacturer: for some brands the warranty expires the moment you start working on the knife yourself. You add the scales at your own risk. We are not liable for damages that you may cause to the knife or accessory.
