Description
12/30/22 – This is an original early Luftwaffe dagger. This type 1 dagger comes with an original scabbard and chain hanger. The blade is maker stamped by Rich. A. Herder, and has very nice cross graining. There are no signs of sharpening, but there are some spots of rust on each side of the blade. The leather stopper is still present, but shows cracking and wear. The handle shows similar surface scuffing and wear throughout the leather. Still more leather wear is found on the scabbard, where the leather has cracking and is missing from certain areas completely. The metal on the scabbard has a dark patina throughout and shows aging. The toe of the scabbard is missing one screw as shown in photos. The hanger is OLC maker stamped.
