1/17/23 – This is a rare late WW2 Type 30 Japanese Rifle bayonet by Jinsen Arsenal.The bayonet is a variation R, LB-162 which is the last known variation by Jinsen. The bayonet has attractive late war features and is in excellent overall condition for a late war example. The blade has excellent bluing with some dark patina near the tip and 1/3 of the way down the blade, but this is mild. The hand guard and pommel have dark surface patina and mild finish loss, and the wood grip is in great condition. Serial numbered and proof stamped on the pommel. The bamboo scabbard has a black painted finish and some of the threading is loose, while the lower portion of thread wrapping is missing. There is a cracking along the side of the scabbard, but this is typical. Still structurally sound and fits nicely.
