Description
3/22/22 – This is an early Austrian Steyr Pieper model 1908 pistol in all original configuration. ¬The polished blue rates at about 98% with just a little wear and pinpricking on either side of the muzzle, and just a little more wear on the bottom of the back strap. ¬The pistol is ’11 dated, and production only started in 1909 but continued through until 1929. ¬These pistols are an unusual blowback type with tip-down barrel. ¬The barrel is retained with a pivoting bolt and is held by a thumb latch barrel-locking mechanism. ¬Manufacture started in 1909 and was suspended in 1911, then resumed in 1919 and wrapped up in 1929. ¬The thumb latch still shows a pretty fire blue.Beautiful grips with no cracks or chips.Original magazine.Excellent, shiny bore.
