3/15/21 – This pistol has an interesting history. It started its life as a K Date Mauser Luger issued to the Nazi military in 1934. It has the proper K Date proofs and a faint K Date on the chamber. It was then likely reworked by the East German police after WW2. These are often known as “VoPo” Lugers. It is mostly matching (except for the rear toggle), but some of the parts have been re-numbered to match. This was likely done at the police arsenal. Also at the police arsenal, the gun was refinished, given a set of post war grips, and a matching post-war magazine. There is an import mark on the barrel. It has retained virtually all of its bluing with minor wear on the side plate and front edges of the frame. Spotty oxidation on the straps. Very nice bore – shiny with good rifling.
