5/24/22 – This is an original WW2 era custom-engraved “Service Memory” bayonet. The bayonet would have been custom or privately engraved by a wealthy German family to celebrate a soldier’s service. The blade roughly translates to “In memory of my service” and indicates the 41st Infantry Regiment in Amberg/Bayern Ostmark. The blade is clean despite some light surface wear and scabbard scratches. Excellent handle and black painted scabbard. Comes with a black leather frog as well that’s unmarked.
