4/22/22 – This is a very nice Winchester Model 12 riot shotgun from early 1918.The Model 1912 retained the quick firing pump action of the Model 1897 before it but had an internal hammer.This particular example is in riot configuration and is all original.There’s minor high edge wear along the receiver and some finish loss along the top of the barrel.Excellent wood furniture, and the stock is marked ’48’ on the underside and ‘C38’ on the right side.Minty bore and smooth pump action.Most riot examples fall in the 160,xxx serial range as this one does, and some are reported without martial markings but Canfield states he hasn’t inspected these reports himself.
