11/16/18 – This is a scarce Zero Series Walther P.38, third variation, with the original matching magazine and grips.Manufactured in early 1940, this pistol is all original and correct, retaining maybe 80-85% high-polish blue.The profile view is mostly nice, with the largest area of finish loss being the right side slide, but the front strap is pretty thin throughout.There is a faint hint of a Russian X on the slide, above the serial.The finish on the gun appears original, so somewhat confusing but certainly could mean it was a Russian capture.There were only ~9,550 of this variation produced, making up less than 1% of WWII P.38 production.All small parts are properly waffen marked.Magazine is correctly numbered on the body, with double E/359 proofs on spine.Bore is minty.
