The handle is made from ‘Black Camo’ Carbon Fiber by FatCarbon, a European manufacturer famous for their unique and colourful carbon materials. Whether you’re looking for eye-catching patterns or subtle finishes: FatCarbon has it, or makes it for you. All their materials are lightweight, rock-solid and resistant to pretty much anything. And let’s be honest: this ‘Black Camo’ variant just looks ridiculously good, doesn’t it?
The blade of the TRC Knives Urban Tactical, DLC Elmax, Fat Carbon Black Camo Carbon Fiber, Limited Edition survival knife measures 9.8 cm in length and 3.5 mm in thickness. The total length is 21.5 cm.
Blade made of Elmax steel
The blade of the TRC Knives Urban Tactical, DLC Elmax, Fat Carbon Black Camo Carbon Fiber, Limited Edition survival knife is made of Elmax. It’s tough, easy to sharpen and has a very good sharpness retention. These features, in combination with the corrosion resistance, makes Elmax a great steel. Elmax is made by Uddeholm in Sweden.
The blade is finished with a DLC coating, which stands for ‘Diamond Like Carbon’. It’s a very hard coating that is even harder than the steel. This makes DLC very scratch-resistant, and this coating protects the blade against corrosion. DLC is very hard, but it is also only a thin layer: eventually, you will always see signs of use.
The TRC Knives Urban Tactical, DLC Elmax, Fat Carbon Black Camo Carbon Fiber, Limited Edition survival knife comes with a sheath made of kydex, a sturdy plastic that will keep the steel safe. However, it is important to keep a kydex sheath clean on the inside. Rinse it regularly with water. This will prevent dirt from remaining in the sheath, which can scratch the blade.
